Urdu Samajh is a Chrome extension that shows Devanagari readings and English meanings for Urdu words when you double-click them on a webpage. This page describes exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.
None. Urdu Samajh does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or otherwise send any information about you or your browsing to any server. The extension performs no network requests at runtime.
The extension stores the following data locally on your device only. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
chrome.storage.sync so they
can follow your Chrome sign-in across devices, per Chrome’s standard
syncing.chrome.storage.local. This list never leaves your
device unless you click “Export” and choose to share it. You can clear
the log at any time from Options. The extension declares access to any http:// or https:// page (excluding
Gmail, Google Docs, Slack, and Notion, where double-click behavior conflicts).
This is required so the double-click lookup works on the sites you already
visit — Rekhta, BBC Urdu, Wikipedia, and so on. The extension does not read
page content on load; it only inspects the word you actively select and
double-click.
The extension does not request access to your identity, browsing history, tabs, downloads, camera, microphone, clipboard, or any other sensitive API.
The extension does not integrate with, embed, or communicate with any third-party service, analytics provider, ad network, or telemetry backend.
Urdu Samajh is a general-audience reading tool and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
